Egyptian prisons have been emptied.. After several days of growing chaos in the country, gangs of armed men have attacked at least four prisons in different parts of the country, and have helped hundreds of Muslim militants and thousands of other inmates to escape.
Among those who have escaped, there are dangerous criminals and extremists, they said yesterday several TV channels.
On Saturday night it was reported on the escape of prisoners from the Central Jail Fayoum, a desert area located west of Cairo, where criminals have murdered an officer with the rank of general, and have kidnapped another senior member police.
In the prison of Abu Saabel in the suburbs of the capital, there was amass escape of prisoners. Yesterday morning, there were only a few prisoners. Who refused to escape because they were about to serve their sentences and were afraid of being arrested and sentenced again by the authorities.
In other regions the picture is the same. Many inmates have also succeeded in escaping from small jails.
